Our Loch Ness tour is very popular. It is a long day driving but so worth the trip. It incorporates some of the best scenery in Scotland.

The tour goes from Glasgow via Loch Lomond past the Drover Inn or From Edinburgh through Stirling (Past Stiling Castle), Doune, Callander and Crianlarich. Crianlarich is where the road turns towards Glencoe. The ancient mountains (350+ million years old) of Glencoe give a spectacular backdrop to this beautiful valley steeped in history.

From there we make our way to Fort William past Scotlands highest mountain, Ben Nevis. The road takes us further past Loch Lochy (we usually have lunch on the shore of Loch Lochy) and Loch Oich following the path of the Caledonian Canal to Fort Augustus which is the southern most point of Loch Ness.

A quick stop at Fort Augustus allows you to see the see locks of the Caledonian canal. From there we make our way to the majestic ruins of Urquhart Castle. A defensive position with documented history since 500AD. This castle ruin is beautiful and right on the shore of Loch Ness.
