On Thursday the 4th of June 2020, Catriona guided our virtual group through the stunning scenery of the A82 road to Loch Ness.

It is one of the most popular day tours into the Scottish Highlands with many operators offering a slight variation on the itinerary. Usually, the trip takes 12 hours, and Catriona condensed this quite well into just under 2 hours.

The tour started with a stop at Glencoe while being serenaded by the hauntingly beautiful voices of the Corries, singing the “Massacre of Glencoe”. Catriona then explained the history of that infamous event before taking our guests through some of our photographs through all the seasons of the area. Have you ever wanted to see what Glencoe looks like in winter? We then continued the tour up towards the Commando Monument at Spean Bridge before having our impromptu “lunch stop” beside the Caledonian Canal Locks at Fort Augustus. The piece de resistance for most people is the cruise on Loch Ness where you learn about the Loch and its famous monster, Nessie. The tour finished at the magnificent ruins of Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness
