Join us on this fantastic 3-day tour from Glasgow. On this tour, you will have the opportunity to visit Outlander filming locations as well as the Scottish Highlands from Glasgow meaning you will have 3 fantastic days without having to check in and check out of different hotels. Led by a knowledgeable guide (and fan of Outlander), you will be sure to have a fantastic trip whilst you enjoy each location’s unique history as well as their Outlander significance.
All our tours include a knowledgeable guide, bottled water and light refreshments in the vehicle. The tour does not include entrance fees, meals, and alcoholic drinks.
Outlander 3 Day Tour Highlights from Glasgow
- Midhope Castle which featured as Lallybroch, Jamie Fraser’s family home
- Blackness Castle, an impressive fortress on the Firth of Forth and made famous as Fort William in Outlander.
- Falkland which became Inverness in the Outlander TV series.
- Doune Castle, an excellent example of medieval architecture that was used as Castle Leoch in Outlander Filming.
- Culross which became Crainesmuir and much more over several seasons of Outlander.
- Hopetoun House which was used for much of Outlander filming, including the Duke of Sandringham’s Residence in Season 1 and much of Paris in Season 2. It was also used in Season 3. In the winter season, we will visit the bottom of the Royal Mile at Bakehouse Close which was used as the Printshop in season 3.
- Linlithgow Palace which featured as Wentworth in Outlander. In the winter season, we will visit Rosslyn Chapel as an alternative location.
- Callendar House, a beautiful mansion house in Falkirk which was the setting for where the Duke of Sandringham lost his head.
- Drummond Castle Gardens which featured as the Gardens of Versailles. In the winter season, we will visit Craigmillar Castle in Edinburgh which was Ardsmuir Prison.
- The Highland Folk Museum – an open air musuem where you get up close and personal to how people of the Highlands once lived.
- Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre, the location of the last pitched battle in Britain and the inspiration for Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander Series.
- Clava Cairns, 4000-year-old burial cairns and standing stones minutes away from Culloden.
- The beautiful forest, waterfalls and folly at the Hermitage in Dunkeld.

3 Day Outlander Tour from Glasgow Itinerary
The Outlander 3 Day tour from Glasgow departs promptly each day from 266 George Street outside the “Parish Halls” Buildings. Please see the map for the exact location and direction assistance at the bottom of this page. Each tour day lasts around 8-12 hours traffic depending.
Day 1
The tour on this day lasts around 8-10 hours traffic depending.
- 8:45 am: Pick-up from 266 George Street in Glasgow (see map at the bottom of this page)
- Visit Blackness Castle (Fort William in Outlander)
- Visit Midhope Castle (Lallybroch)
- Visit Falkland (Inverness) for lunch.During the Winter months, we will visit Linlithgow Palace instead.
- Visit Doune Castle (Castle Leoch)
- Visit Culross which has been used for 3 seasons of Outlander filming
- Tour ends at 266 George Street, Glasgow
Entrances for the above are not included.
Day 2
Tour day lasts around 8 – 9 hours traffic depending.
- 9.15 am: Pick-up at 266 George Street in Glasgow
- Visit Hopetoun House (Duke of Sandringham’s Residence and Paris Bedrooms). In the winter months, we will visit the Bakehouse Close in Edinburgh instead.
- Visit Linlithgow Palace (Wentworth Prison). In the winter months, we will visit Rosslyn Chapel instead
- Visit Callendar House – this is also our lunch stop but bringing a packed lunch is also welcome.
- Visit Drummond Castle Gardens which was used as the location for Versailles. In the winter months, we will visit Craigmillar Castle instead.
- Tour ends Glasgow
Entrances for the above are not included.
Day 3
The tour on this day lasts around 12 hours traffic depending.
- 7am: Pick up at 266 George Street, Glasgow
- Stop in Pitlochry for a rest stop with the option of visiting the Heathergems Factory.
- Visit the Highland Folk Museum (only available in the summer season) which was where the rent episode took place.
- Visit Culloden Battlefield and visitor centre, we tend to have lunch here.
- Visit the Clava Cairns (4000-year-old standing stones).
- Visit the beautiful Hermitage in Perthshire.
- Arrive back in Glasgow for around 7pm
