Itinerary
The Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond, Trossachs and Whisky tour departs promptly at 9am from 266 George Street in Glasgow. The meeting point is a very central location and where most tours from Glasgow depart.
We will begin by making our way to the Historic heart of Scotland in Stirling. Stirling Castle sits atop an extinct volcano and has witnessed many kings, queens, conflict and intrigue. You will have the opportunity to explore the castle for 1 hour and a half after a short history tour by your guide. (entrance to Stirling Castle not included)
We will then make our way through the Trossachs region of Scotland, making photographic stops along the way at Loch Lubnaig and the Highland Cows at Kilmahog and views towards the Glen Ogle Viaduct. If the weather is pleasant, you will feel like you are on a mini Scotland Photography Tour.
We will then continue on to the Drovers Inn where we will have our lunch (not included). The Drovers Inn was first established in 1705 and if only walls could talk. It has been frequented by many famous and infamous Scots including Rob Roy MacGregor and has its own unique and quirky feel. They have a great selection of hearty traditional Scottish cuisine as well as Burgers and such like. They have gluten free and vegetarian options too. While you eat, your guide will regale you with stories of the building’s past and its spooky ghost stories.
After our lunch, we will continue our way towards the Auchentoshan Whisky Distillery. We will make a photographic stop on Loch Lomond on the journey.
Once we arrive at Auchentoshan, you will experience a whisky tour (not included) by one of their wonderful staff. You will learn how Scotch whisky is made and why it is so special to Scotland, they do call it the “water of life” after all. The tour lasts around 1 hour and it includes a tasting of Auchentoshan at the end.
After your whisky tour, we will make our way back to Glasgow where we aim to reach for 5pm (traffic depending)
